Back drop:
2000 S-10, RWD, 4.3, 4L60E. Completely stock, 193,xxx miles. Original engine, transmission was overhauled approximately 12,000 miles ago. I have had this truck for over 4 years and nearly 45K miles. It receives regular maintenance, plugs twice, cap, rotor and wires, all oil and filter changes in probably more frequency than is necessary. It is my daily. I depend on it. Only codes in the computer are an occasional P0141, which indicated a problem with the heater circuit on the O2 sensor which is post catalytic converter.
Problem:
On occasion, while driving normally, power is down, with late shifts.
For example:
I will be going 40-45 mph and slow down for a right hand turn at a green lighted intersection. After rolling through the corner, I will apply the throttle in such a manner as to reach 40-45 again at a normal, regular, "just driving", pace. The truck will act as though it is pulling something heavy. As in, not accelerating normally. The amount of speed increase ins't consistent with the application of throttle. This happens in other scenarios also. I am not putting ANY stock in ANY relation to having just made a turn.
If I floor it, speeds increase consistent with a full throttle application. It will shift at approximately 4900-5000 RPM, which it has always done.
If I hold the throttle where it was, it will accelerate more slowly than normal, and hold the gear much longer than normal, until well north of 4k RPM, by which point I have reached an appropriate speed and I will let off of the throttle. The problem will persist for any where between 2 and 10 minutes, and then the truck will return to normal.
I can't get to a scanner/logger fast enough to catch it in the act.
I will say that I am leaning towards either a TPS sensor or a MAF sensor. This is only from past experience, and not from any real data.
