I just installed a 4" lift on my 89. It looks as if the rear driveshaft may need lengthened. How can I tell for sure? How much of the slip yoke should be inside the transfer case at ride height and at full suspension travel? I see Denny's Driveshaft Service has a website and the prices looked ok (150$) and most of the 4x4 magazines reference them.

When I had my four in lift I was getting some vibration and it looked as thought the driveshaft was a little short. Instead of just having it lengthened, I went ahead and bought one with the cv joint in it. This solved any vibrations I had plus lengthened it at the same time. Having the cv joint will also help with any binding you might get during articulation.
