1/2 ton status
Hi all I put a shacle flip kit in my 79 blazer and now has 4" total lift, I also installed 14" travel shocks. Everything in the swap was going fine till I tried to bolt the drive shaft back in, finding that it is now a 1/2" too short fully extended with the tires on the ground to even bolt upto the axle. I am now trying to figure out how much to have my drive shaft leangthened. I figure if I add 2" it will allow a total of 4" of total axle drop and still have enough travel on the splines for full compression. So my question here is has anyone here had this problem and how did you solve it.
second question is that I would like to limit the axle drop at the diff, does anyone here see a problem with installing a limiting strap at the center of the diff for 3.5: of drop ? This will still allow me to articulate but wont over extend my u joints.
