I replaced my abrasive blade chop saw, with an Evolution slow cut carbide 14" blade, will except a 15 " blade.
I made a couple cuts today, and wow.
This saw is great I can't wait to do more with it.
I say if you are thinking about a slow cut saw, do it.
Man I really am on the fence about it. How true to square does it cut? I.e. blade deflection. Are the chips large and easy to sweep up? Sharp stick in your soles kind of thing?
Blade moves way less, if at all, then abrasive blade. I suppose it's all in how hard you push.
Big fat chips, this saw has bin underneath that collects most.
That's cool that it collects it. I just saw a video of a cut made on a cold saw and it really moved me more in that direction. I have been looking at evolution in particular. Which saw is that one?
I was bouncing back and forth between that saw and a horizontal bandsaw... I ended up going the horizontal route just because it was $90 cheaper. But I still plan on one of these.
I recently put an evolution blade on my 25 year old dewalt abrasive saw. So far impressed but only made a few cuts . Only threw a couple sparks not the abrasive blade spark show.
I've been on the fence to on one of these. My abbrassive finally bit the dust. I've narrowed down to evo or rigid. The rigid is way more but lifetime guarentee
