Been done a few times, in fact I'm doing it right now myself.
However I want heavier so I have a D70HD rear for mine.

I had a D70 HD rear and put it temporarily under my single rear truck, ran it with stock wheels and tires it didn't sick out too much but you could see a difference.
Most people run the hummer H1 beadlock on them since they have 7" offset which puts them pretty much in the stock location.
