Hey all, the U4WDA will be holding its summer convention in American Fork canyon. Come and join us for a day of wheeling and food. Find out what work is being done to keep our trails open. Don't miss this activity!

    UTAH 4-Wheel Drive Association
    Presents Summer Convention 2005:

Join us for a fresh and new event like nothing you have experienced before! Explore beautiful American Fork Canyon in teams of two vehicles as you search for hidden flags, follow directions to 4x4 tasks, and navigate by map, all the while attempting to outwit and outscore your opponents! Call your buddies and reserve your team now for an exciting event you won’t want to miss! Need an extra shot of adrenalin to get you going? Don’t miss the optional night run on Friday! Get your KC’s wired and shining!
    Where: American Fork Canyon, Utah
    Meeting Place:

Friday night adventure: Meet at DUTCHMAN FLATS and register by 6pm. Event starts at 8pm sharp! Dutchman Flats is located 4.3 miles beyond Tibble Fork Reservoir in the north fork of American Fork Canyon (just past the turnoff to Forest Lake). Leave your tow rigs and trailers in the lot at Tibble Fork.

Saturday: Register at Tibble Fork Reservoir parking lot 8 am. Teams depart soon thereafter.
    When: September 9th and 10
Cost: $30 per vehicle if registered before September 1. After September 1 the price is $40 per vehicle. Cost includes the run and an authentic Texas BBQ dinner for two! Add’l passengers: $10. Kids: $5.
    How: RSVP with Daynene, 801-942-3488.
    Important Notes :

This is a team event and set up as such. A team consists of TWO vehicles. There can be as many passengers as seatbelts allow. If you do not have a teammate when you arrive you will be paired up with someone else who may not have a teammate. This is a competitive event where teams compete against each other to accomplish as much “stuff” (that’s a technical term) as time allows. Some special tasks will revolve around the use of two vehicles (such as using a tow strap.) So it is important to be paired up in teams.

Campout: If you can make it for the Friday night activity, you are welcome to campout in the canyon and join us for Saturday’s activities as well. The Friday night run is part of the overall event and will be scored. You are invited to participate in both days or on Saturday only; the optional campout is unofficial and you must make your own arrangements for camping. Granite Flat Campground is nearby and accepts RV’s. Go to www.reserveamerica.com for reservations.

Categories: To be fair, there are two categories. Modified and Stock. Modifieds MUST have: At least one locking differential, and one of the two rigs on your team must have a winch.. Yes, you will use the winch!! We are designing the course around the natural difficulties in the canyon; modifieds will run the more difficult trails (3 to 4 ratings) and the stock group will run moderate trails (2 to 3.5 rating.) This is not a rock crawl competition; it will be a fun, family type event not unlike our poker runs and off-road rallies of years past. Competition buggies are welcome to participate. The event is entirely on dirt roads; be sure to have proper OHV registration however.

All vehicles must meet the U4WDA requirements for event participation.
