Did a search and could not find anything definative.

This is what I'm working on: 1984 K10 - 305 motor -700R4 trans

Stock intake manifold, spreadbore to sq bore adapter plate, Edelbrock 1406 Carb, stock TV Cable. Truck was equipped with cruise but is currentlly removed.

What is the correct setup for the TV bracket ?
I've always ran Holleys and the 20-95 bracket worked great.

Thanks in advance.

You can still use the 20-95 bracket though they have a tendency to swivel around when bolted down to the corner of the carb. We weld a small tang on them to prevent them from pivoting at this point and they work great. The AFB has decent tv geometry but not ideal, if you find you don't care for the shifts then use a tv geometry correction lever that bolts to the carb. I am not a vendor on the site so I won't put in a shameless plug for our company but if you need a correction lever pm me and I will get you some help.

Thanks Greg! I already installed the correction lever.

If you take a look at the 20-95 (web search, amazon...)

It has a tang to prevent swivel. So this will work on my Edelbrock carb with stock TV Cable?

Thanks,

Just found a Holley 20-113 that specifies for the TH700R4 trans. Would this be a better way to go?

That tang won't stop the swivel on an AFB style carb base, you will need to modify it a bit, still a great bracket though

Ok thanks for the clarification.

Should I start with the 20-95 or the 20-113 ? Or does it matter?

Also, do you have a pic of the modification you do to them?

Thanks,

Thanks for all the help guys. I have another question about Timing.

bone stock 305, edelbrock 600, headers, true duals

Should I shoot for 40 degrees total advance @ 3k Revs? Or will it run better with more or less timing? Given the mods it has.

Thanks.

What you need to do is start low, maybee around 32*. Take it out for a wide open throttle run. If it doesn't ping, take it up some more. Once it starts pinging, back it off until it doesn't. Once you reach this point, see how it starts. If the starter fights the early spark, then back it off until it starts easy. At this point you know that you have as much total timing as you can run. People can throw out numbers all day long and it will only be a guess. This will get you where you need to be. Worked wonders for my new engine. Runs like a champ now :woot:!

edelbrock has a couple of throttle cable/tv cable brackets for their carbs...

8031 for gen 1 manifolds...

8032 for Vortec manifolds... I have a 1406 and am using this.
