My sons 86 k5 has an edelbrock performer carb with electris choke sitting on a performer rpm intake. When it gets warmed up it stalls when you go heavy on the brakes, hard cornering etc.. It aiso labors pretty hard when you crank it up after its been drven for a while and parked. If its cold it cranks right up. I just wonder if it needs a spacer or heat shield under the carb, or if theres something I can adjust and fix it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Lower the floats a bit and definately install a insulator plate under the carb.

Due to the two piece body, heat transfers through the base of the carb to the fuel at a high rate.

I've had quite a few AFB's and Edelbrock's over the years on various vehicles and have had to put heat insulators on every single one to prevent the vapor lock you speak of.
