Eileens 79 Corvette resurrection. It survived 1450miles on Power Tour

Rant on.

I was trying to install the one new front caliper on the right side. Would not go on. Seems the rotor is too tight to the back side. I check the new to old for height, diameter and thickness. Measures the same. So why won't they go on?

If you receive 2 boxes of Power Stop brake rotors and pads from Summit, and the first box you open has this label on it, what would you assume?

Correct part number from my order. Box screams "FRONT" right at me. Rotors have "Passenger Side" or Drivers Side" on them. Checked the hub mounting area thickness. Old is thicker. So there is the difference. Looked up the part number on Power Stops web site.

NOT THE FRONTS.

The other box, after I opened the shipping box, says front also with a different part number. Rotors are labeled "Front Passenger" and Front Driver". WTH?????

I am so tired of going in circles because of others mistakes.

The correct rotor let the passenger front go together.

Rant off.

That is why now I only buy parts at my local napa store and verify the parts before I leave the store

poked through the thread a bit. No one can commiserate with a C3 owner other than another C3 owner. They're......special. Yeah that's the word. Some days I have urges to burn mine to the ground. . Had to take the pedal box out to install the linkage for the hydraulic clutch master. That was fun. Pedal to brake booster was a hoot but didn't compare to the upper mount that's accessed through the wiper cavity(early C3). Putting them back on took a couple hours for four bolts.

I guess I am over here updating for Hot rod Power Tour 24.

This car was built as a bar car. Even though we don't go to bars. So 2k miles, needs and upgrade and some going over.

New 750 carb ordered.
New plugs to go in.
Check front hub bearing.
Find a spare tire. I have the bucket and the carrier bolt. Find a small jack. Socket and breaker bar.
Put the new HEI dist. in a bag.
Small tool kit made.
Oil quarts in non spillable tub.

Plug wires, coil , cap and pickup are under a year old.
Tires are new, 5 year olds.

2/65. The vinyl seat should be fun.

It actually works, except it won't blow fully from the upper vents. So my feet will stay cool.

You will remember to put a towel on the seat after the first time

I was cleaning the unnecessary stuff out of the car, basically Eileen's car show stuff, and found this. I did not know it was in there. Now to find a space saver spare.PXL_20240602_235046321.jpg

That cord is the wiring repair spare. Will go into the 12v bag. You can make it into whatever you need. Used one for headlight wiring to get home once.

It makes cold air. The vacuum lines under the dash are thrashed so it will not move the doors. Taking that dash out is not on my "fun things to do list". I will have to eventually.

I sweat for a living, so what's another 5 days?
