Been searching and googling this for a few days, and coming up with squat...probably just not using the right terms, lol.

Anyways, the elbow tube/bellows between the air box and turbo on my '96 is pretty screwed up at the turbo end due to PO clamping it down without it being fully seated on the turbo, and it took a permanent set since. I can get it seated after much cursing, but it's always a PITA now.

Been trying to find a replacement, and not finding anything. Is my only option here trying to find a good one in the junkyard (can't remember the last time I've seen a 6.5 in the junk yards...), or buying a full cold air intake kit?

Is this thing a factory custom made unit,or would "any" elbow work ?..
I used to sell silicone air intake elbows for big rigs ,Dayco listed a lot of various sizes and lengths of elbows and couplings .perhaps one could be trimmed to fit and resemble the original enough to work..
That silicone stuff ain't cheap, but its also very tough yet flexible..doubt it'd ever need replacing again..

It is the type of hose they supply with a universal catalitic converter,it'll withstand heat right off the hot converter where it connects to the air pump..

Most likely, but you may be able to substitute a suitable "universal" air intake hose to work. if no replacements exist any more..

This is an example of what is available that I mentioned..
(not Dayco brand, but another company with a better online catalog illustrations & specs)..

The factory elbow also attaches to the hose coming from the CDR valve. Not a huge obstacle, but a generic elbow won't be a 100% fit.

The elbow has the opening for the cdr and is oval shaped at the air box end. It's a factory fit piece. Finding a NOS or used is your only choice if you want to keep the stock air box.

It's not so much that I'm dead set on keeping the factory air box, but rather that I don't see the need for a $400 cold air kit on an otherwise stock truck just to replace that one elbow, especially considering the factory set up is already a cold air intake set up. Nor do I really want to cobble something together from "universal" parts that will end up looking like I stole it off some teenager's riced out Civic, lol.

If there was something out there for $100 or so that doesn't look hacked together, isn't just a cone filter attached to the turbo and sucking in hot underhood heat, and doesn't involve me converting the CDR to a road draft tube like a lot of the Ford guys do, I'd have no problem in dropping the stock air box and tube assembly.

The other problem I'm having here is trying to even search for this thing...intake elbow just comes up with a bunch of aftermarket tubes that replace the turbo to intake tube, intake bellows comes up with a bunch of completely unrelated parts...guess I should crack open the parts book and find the actual part number for this thing.
