Entertain Us - 400 sbc question

Checked the stats on mine some years back when I got it. Something like 8.2 compression and a useless cam.
I'm glad it's got some lower gears, I can get out if my own way. Lol
I found a chart, just dropping 64cc heads will bump compression to 9.1.

I miss you two together at blazer bash :haha:certainly not a dull moment around you guys.

I’m a little uncomfortable with where this is going, but what do I really have to worry about Dave probably fell asleep.

Nope. Still early.
But Mark definitely can definitely make ya feel uneasy..
:haha:

So this discussion started because of a truck that I bought to flip, has a crate engine of some sort under the hood, but with the heads pulled off. It came with 2 sets of Blueprint aluminum heads.
I was thinking about whether or not my son would like to have this engine for his '72 which he bought from My Dad. It has a stock 400SB out of a '72 Impala. Stock, used 400, vs a built 358. We could check the 358 out, put a roller cam in, and go.
I haven't asked him if he would prefer to keep the 400 that my Dad and I installed into the '72 back in 1986.
But at the rate that the rebuild of the truck is going, there are years to discuss this.
:surepal:

But neither of those motors are stock , so why discussion on stock output?
