Ever fixed up the K5 to much?

I did too much to my '70 K10, but it isn't set up for serious wheeling. I still have taken it out a good amount.
Take yours out and play, I bet that you will want to use it more when compared to the suburban.
Common sense will keep you sane. Otherwise what did you pay all of the money for? Poser?

Nothing wrong with a mall crawler. If a car tries to take your spot, atleast you’d be able to run over them!

I put a rust free, dent free, super straight cab on my blazer frame. Thought, I will never dent this and do what I can to try and prevent dents. Two wheeling trips later, first dent gets in it... Three years later, who cares. Its only sheetmetal.

Slap in a 383 or BB without the electronics. Then you'll be ready for the next EMP or Zombie Apocalypse! :haha:

I didn't fix mine until it was too nice. I kept "building" mine until it wasn't streetable anymore. that is the kiss of death for me, because it was always my daily driver up until then.

Live and learn as they say...

So in doing the makeover of my 91K5 with one ton axles, arb, 456 gears, coil overs, OBA, paint, cage, so it should be great off roader now.
But now i'm actually worried about messing it up so tempted to take the Suburban instead.

I know that makes no sense

Makes total sense lol.

Buy you can still wheel it just be nice

LOL

I think I was at that point about 5 years ago and it’s still not finished.

Me never.
I never cared about looks.
Even when my brother and I redid his 73 k5 frame off restoration, spent about 10k on the body, paint interior and electrical then took it out wheeling before the week was over.

If it's too nice to wheel in the woods and on the rocks, then take it to the dunes.

I wouldn't give a wheeling rig any sort of professional paint job. Once you get the first dent in it, you won't care that much anymore

Same for me
I wheel it so it got the o.d. bomb
Paint it and it becomes a dent magnet lol

Been having this discussion with a friend who does body work. He'll be painting the my crew cab in January and was wanting to fix the dents in the rockers. Reminded him that the truck does goes offroad so there's no point in fixing those dents.
