Noticed the rear pinion was seal was leaking (12B) and decided to replace the seal. Driveshaft comes off, pinion nut comes off real easy, so far so good. Decide to take the diff cover off to check the ring gear and case for chips, metal and other stuff. Now the brain decides to die. I notice a rattle in the case and the pinion is real loose and rattles around. Dang must be bad bearings, so I lift the ass end of teh blazer up, off comes the tires and hubs, and I proceed to tear and the innards out of the case. Out comes the pinion gear and I notice that the bearing are in great shape. Brain kicks back in now. #%##%@ the pinion was loose because I loosened it when I took the pinion bolt off. Oh well since it was apart I decide to replace the axel tube oil seals.
