ok guys! I'm a mickeys 40oz deep with some coors lite on the way so don't judge my spelling if I make a mistake !!!!
Brought the '77 out of hiding today, painting the bumpers and trying to fix the darn thing. I tried to smog it a couple of months ago but it failed, now I have to smog it at a test only station. It GP'ed... Anything I can do with the carb to make it not fail? On the air/fuel screws which way makes it add more fuel and which makes it less? What is stock? Should i use the stock settings? Also my cold start screw or whatever it is called on the left side, which way is which for adjusting? I've tried screwing around with it and turning it one way and then another and I'm not getting anywhere. My start idle is really low and the truck dies unless you give it a ton of gas. I know you can make these things work because in my '69 caddy you could start it up and drive it within 10 seconds.
If anyone else has any other tips or info to help me past smog in nazifornia let me know please but i'm pretty sure it has something to do with the air/fuel ratio.
Like I said, drinkin beers with my dad and working on the truck, can't get better or more american than that. Happy fathers day everyone!
