looking at detroits and gears and cant find a gear for revese rotation that is 513 that isnt thick...anyone seen any regular gears (513) that arent thick and reverse rotation??

also is reverse rotation just the r&P or is the housing designed to run it??in other words could you put a std rotation r&p in a reverse rotation d60 housing??

Yep, from what I found it looks like you can get standard 4.88 and 5.38 gears but 5.13 are thick only.

What do you mean? You must use "reverse rotation" gears in a high pinion housing and you must run regular rotation gears in a low pinion housing.

exactly what i was wondering i didnt know if you changed the carrier if it mattered or not

Its actually reverse spiral (rather than reverse rotation).

The carriers are the same between high and low pinion dana 60s.

I wish my memory was better but this is what I remember about this. Ford only offered the HP60 w. 4.10s and down so no setup (carrier?) was made for the 4.56 and up gears. The easy solution was thick gears and that is what we have now. The good thing about this is is that there is no need for a carrier break when it comes to lockers. At least that is the way I understand it. Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

well i think ive decided to keep my carrier order a lockrite and a thick gear...i just hope the lockrite holds up to my 44s
