i am redoing the brakes lines on a 80 k20. im not sure is it is just one size, but would there be any benefit of going to a bigger line size? on the master cylinder it is split into 2. witch is the front and back? are the separated from each other? last one my buddy now has 4 wheel dics on his k30. not sure what we did, but he hit the breaks and the rears just about lock up. so what do you thing we did wrong?

thanks

From my understanding, a bigger line size won't make a difference unless you step up to a bigger master cylinder, but don't quote me on that.
I'm not sure which lines are front and which are the back, but it shouldn't be too hard to trace the lines to where they go.
As for your friends truck, it probably needs a proportioning valve to even out the pressure since discs need more/less (?) pressure that drums.

my rear tires lock up when i HIT my brakes because i self adjusted the rear drums i pressed the e-brake and the foot brake and tried to gun it in 4lo

that made the rear self adjusters self adjust now i have 4 wheel brakes, i dunno if its bad but i stop now

anyone, know witch is the front and witch is back? i would fallow the lines, but there is none right now. proportioning valve will even pressure front and rear. i think that what it does. thanks

It is typically understood if you are starting from scratch to use 3/16 brake line through out the system. From the factory the rear uses 1/4 brake line and the front uses 3/16. If you are going 4 wheel disc I'd recommend plumbing the fronts out of the MC down to the front crossmember and put a T fitting there (toss your factory prop valve) and carry each side out to the wheels. The rears I use a Wilwood adjustable proportioning valve and then it goes back. The rears should not lock up before the fronts. This adj prop valve will allow you to tune the brake system to achieve proper brake bias.

I also use a 77 K30 MC PN 101534.

JUST SEARCH!!!

Oh wait, I don't come from that school.

The larger reservoir on the MC is the front, smaller is the rear. Same with the fittings, the larger fitting is the front.
