Well I picked up a set of fiberglass fenders for the K10 a while ago. Been trying to figure out how to mount them in my head before actually cutting metal. I had an extra drivers side fender lying around so I skinned it thinking I could attach the fiberglass outer to the factory inner. Looks possible but they will have to be cut up and modified. The reason I wanted to do that was to maintain factory hood hinge attachments along with some of the other engine bay items that boot to the inside of the fender. I'm probably going to have to build an inner support to get the rigidity back but I think it's doable. Anyways, here are some pictures! That's a big 37" tire for reference! And the fiberglass fender over the top of the inner fender piece.

gunna bring this thing back from the dead here real quick... over the last year and a half, the fenders have been mounted and man they are sweet! No more rubbing, plenty of room for a 40" tire, factory body lines, light weight, and 2 minute removal time for easy access to engine bay. THAT BEING SAID, the flare on these is about 3" wider than stock, which is probably an inch or so wider than what i really need. Its just nice to have a wheel well opening that is designed for something bigger than a 33" tire.

My question for you guys: Would ya'll be interested in some fiberglass fenders and bedsides that offered little flare (maybe 1" wider) but had a larger wheel well opening designed for a 37 or 40" tire? The purpose would be for those guys who want big tires, low lift, and dont want to cut fenders to maintain the clean factory looking bodylines.

It turns out my shop is about 20 minutes from Hanneman Fiberglass. Im going down there this week to talk to them about bedsides for my shortbed and K5, and was wondering if the stockish fender would be something you guys would be interested in?

Absolutely

Here are some pictures of my K10 with just the fronts installed, and mockup mock-up of the rear longbed bedsides. The fronts are about 3" and the rears look to be about 4", which is too wide IMO for the rear, but lack of options dictates what I get to do haha

I've been saying for years that somebody needs to tool up a replica of the front fender, but with larger wheel openings. It's a lot of tricky work to open one up "right". If there was a bolt-on option, it would sell and fewer guys would feel they just have to cut.

Depending on price point, I could get interested in a set of fenders. Shipping might get costly though, huh? Im in Conroe, TX. Close to Houston.

I’d be interested in a set. Any updates?

Yes! So far it looks like its going to cost about 4k to have the plug built. After that the fenders themselves will run about $250 per side, or $500 for the pair. Since this project isn't priority and its on the more costly side, im not sure exactly when they will be available.

I've been hoping somebody would manufacture some fenders like these forever. Stock look, bigger opening, yes please. I HATE the idea of slicing up my fenders to fit the tires I want to run.

at that price I would DEFINITELY love to get a set. keep us in the loop when they become available.
