Looking for some advice on finder trimming. Got a 4" lift w/ 37's. don't want to go hirer so she still fits in the garage. Want to make some room for intermediate trail riding. Thoughts?

shouldn't need to trim the rear and if you can push the front axle forward a little you can get away with only trimming the fangs.

Flat trails or flexed out trails?
37s will be all up in your sheetmetal with a 4" lift. Like Skunked said, the rear should be OK so long as it's tucking through the center of the well opening.
The fronts always benefit from moving the axle forward some if you can. If you aren't willing to put in the work, the backside of the fender is what always grabs.
I'm "well trimmed" with axles moved on 37s with an accumulated 6" of lift. (4",1",1") Soon to have much more taken away for the 40s.

Easy to clear 37" with 4" lift. My V3500 crew cab has a 4" lift with 37" and a fender trim, works great. My '90 blazer has 38" on it with a 4" lift and the axle 1.5" forward, big trim and will probably clear a 40".
My trimming advice is cut the fang off the front of the fender. At the rear of the fender opening measure back about 6" along the bottom, adjust this for personal taste. Mark the bottom then draw a straight line up to the curve in the fender opening. This will give you roughly what K85 Octane has in the picture. This line is the "fold" line. Mark a "cut" line that is 1" less. After cutting make a bunch of slits to the fold line and bend all the tabs in. This will give you a pretty nice edge and help with looks and strength. Extra points for welding all the tabs together, you will get a real strong fender if you weld. You will need to beat the inner fender back some with a sledge.

Here is my old pile with 5" of lift and trimmed for 40's. Front diff moved forward 1.25"

I trimmed only the rear of the REAR wheel wells. I also cut around the bottom because I knew, sooner or later, a rock would bash it and bend further into the fender. I like the look more than I needed the cut but now my axle is 4” back. Kind of a necessity now. Here’s a shot of the rear.

K85 Octane. I like your rig..tRusty your is sick too,, great advise I am getting here. I will start small and trim when needed. I am just starting this project. It has some bald old military tires on it with 16.5" wheels.. Going with 17" wheels with the cooper mud tire 37x13.5r17. Spending that money.. lol
