So, I've ended up getting and transporting two completely burned up trucks in the past two weeks. I'm coming home yesterday towing the car trailer with a truck on it, and at a traffic light, smoke starts coming out from under my hood and under the dash. We pull over and I pop the hood, and somehow the battery (after two hours of flat highway travel and no bumps) was sitting at an angle to where it was touching the hood and shorting out. Luckily no flames. But we ended up tearing my dash apart on the spot to make sure nothing was smoldering or on fire. So, at least I still have a crew cab this morning... but I think I'll be investing in some fire extinguishers soon.
