Hmm some uses I hadn't thought of with a Hi-Lift. I will have to keep the house door one in my mind for SHTF. I wonder if you can retrofit the base?

I like the base and it seems a more stable platform (safer) than the ones most of us have. The base is set for rigging and also has more usage options.

We carry several on our trucks, and they're the least utilized tools by many of the guys. I teach the recruits all the capabilities of the Hi-Lift whenever I can, but I'm still kind of sketchy on using it as a fixed anchor for rappelling.
