FOA Shocks, Good or Bad Product?
I was looking around today , and found FOA Off Road , and notice they make King Type Shocks, anyone know the reviews of there products? Noticed they make the shock bodys out of steel, pro and cons, sorta reminds me of a works shock for quads

There are lots of threads on pirate4x4.com about long lead times and lots of quality problems, I've never used them but they don't sound like they're worth the low price they ask.

I never run them, unless they were free maybe.

Folkenheath on here has to fill his bumps and shocks with nitrogen every time he takes the thing out....

If you want a good shock, buy a good quality shock. Fox, King, bilstein, swayaway, etc.

I have done 3 trucks with FOA because the client cheaped out. 2 have replaced them. One was so discussed he sold the truck.

Save your money and buy a reputable brand. My Swayaways have been on the truck for 10 years. The only time I have had to recharge them is if I remove the shocks. Air bumps have never been recharged.

I have FOA air bumps. They are fine. I need to replace e a pad on one of them. It's kind of hit or miss I have a couple friends who have coilovers. Zero problems.

Also have a buddy who has built a several rigs with em. He pulls em apart and puts new o rings in em from the get go. He has needed to send a few back.

It's a cheap shock. I would run em if it meant getting out on the trail now or getting out in a year or two.

I am also not afraid to take em apart though. You kind of need to take em apart to tune em

Back to the foa review for a post. This is a long story i guess.. When i had coil springs on my sas i wanted better shocks to help the ride. So bought 2 sets of foa shocks and figured how bad could they be. The first were 2.5x 12 resi's for the front, i ordered them from daves offroad supply here in pa. They took 3 weeks which i thought was pretty good. Ups dropped em off they looked pretty decent, one catch tho is they bounced around the box with the miss alignment spacers. This had them all beat up,(about 15-20 dings) one worse than the other. I left it go which i shouldn't of but they were cheap. Two weeks later oil was splattered all over the inner fender, they sent me a new one pretty fast....that lasted two months and the other side was leaking too. At this rate they don't hold a nitrogen charge either...!! The other sh!tty part is they were a rusty mess and i kept after them weekly;

The other set 2.0x12 non resi's for the rear, No i didn't learn my lesson the 1st time. Ups dropped these off too. The boxes came and one box was all wet looking, with big stains. I opened it up and it was all coated in oil. They made up for it again and sent a new one right away, I will say tho super hard to get ahold of and real bad with emails. So when my hs was 4 linked i revalved the 2.5's and the oil was black as coal and they were a total a--hole to take apart. Rebuilt with new seals and valving they are on it for 2 years and still seem real good.

So honestly i think if you don't care about the finish, rattle can em and don't mind a little maintenance they are decent and cheap. If you don't want to mess with em then stay away..!!!. I went to king 2.5x10 coilovers and they have been flawless, valved wrong and the wrong springs but thats easily taken care of.
