New Marine Corps sniper scope
Nice. I'm guessing that it would be a little out of reach $$ wise for deer hunting.
I have absolutely no use for an M-24, but I'm positive that I need one.
X2, I didnt like the m40 much.
I got a BSA 6-20X with the mil dot set up for XMas. Its on my Enfield 06, just waiting for the weather to get better to zero in at 300 yds.
Sometimes I just don't understand the armed service's choices...
Come on now, why get an "off the shelf" leupold when for only 5 times as much get a equal scope with a much, much cooler name.
If my scopes can't get beat HARD for a month and hold their zero, they go on the gun show table and I look for something else. I have 4.5-14 Leupold's on my .243, .270, and .300 win mag and none of them have ever let me down.
if the grunts carrying them are happy, I'm happy... after the initial getting-used-to-them time has passed, the guys seem to like them.
The sniper is a great weapon in Iraq, especially since our enemies there don't tend to be able to shoot accurately at long distances. Sounds like another case of the Marines kicking ass. Just what I like to hear.
I personally prefer Leupold for most newer rifles, but there is a soft spot in my heart for that Unertl 10x that used to be the "Sniper's Choice"... maybe I'll be able to get them cheaper now. My personal favorite ever scope is a Russian 3x9 POSP scope from the Dragunov Sniper Rifle. They are cheap, illuminated by a watch battery, hard to knock off of BZO, and deadly accurate.
Oh how I wish I could go back to the Corps just to go to Sniper School.
Yeah what in the flying **** are some of these people doing with their rigs,it's a scope fer ****s sake not a rock.it has delicate internals...Ok there was that one time I juggled,,,ney, I tried to juggle my infant son, turns out, those footy jamas is slippery. Luckily kids is squishy and bounce...Ah nevermind...
Iron sights baby! If the Jarheads like it, I like it.
