We have a Short box Chevy frame boxing kit pretty much ready to go. It's alot of sheet metal but would save a huge amount of time for you guys that are considering this. I'd also like to state it up front, there'll be some fudging you'll have to do on your end. Even with the kit, this wouldn't be something I'd recommend for the weak of heart. If your not familiar with bullying some sheetmetal around, this thing will kick your arse from one end to the other.

Eventually we can do a long box, sub, blazer (both versions) crewcab and on and on.

How much interest is there? Would having a purchasable kit make this a less daunting task?

Id like to eventually box the frame on my K20 when I pull the body off to redo it all, of course that would be a longbed reg cab kit. Definately would be something Im interested in.

Sounds like a good idea to me. Just the time saved by the pieces being precut would be worth the cost.

What are you thinking cost wise? Everything you make is generally very reasonable . That being the case I am sure I would be in for a kit on a 73 blazer

Should have it all figured up in the next day or so. Got to cross some i's an dot some t's.:D

Don"t forget about the 67-72 blazers......I doing a restomod now and am thinking about boxing the frame. Pre fab would be sweet.

how thick is the steel? Rough estimate on price? How did you navigate around the front rear spring hanger?

10ga.

Working on the price. Should have it in a couple hours here.

Very carefully.

Might consider a big oblong hole to accomodate stock vs 52" relocates, etc.

haha, I was thinking the rear springs. Front one, we pulled it up tight and ran a holesaw pilot through and then punched it out.

Shortbox kit will be priced at $200.00

another interest for a 77K5
Is this from front horns to rear crossmember?

It goes a little past the rear crossmember. Within an inch or so of either end. There is room in the front and rear to trim some off or not depending on what you need access to for bumper mounting and so forth. Alternately you can make access holes as well.

If one becomes available for the 1st gen Blazer I'd purchase one.

DANG! 200 bucks. I don't think I could buy the steel for that, let alone the time involved in cutting, fitting and welding. I can't say I'd buy right away but as soon as I get working again a kit for a 77 blazer would be on my list
