If you are open up front, go for it. I ran 37's in rocks only for a year with my D44. If you are locked, try it but have spare shafts (use 760's joints or better) and have a little throttle reserve. I think there is a little more credit the 1/2 ton stugg deserves than it gets. Many people run out and get a D60 too early in the game (myself included).
