I fabbed mine from a Reese hitch that I had. Go to a junk yard and get a good size one off ANY vehicle, chop it down and weld'er in. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
you can get them from four wheel parts i think 160.00.probably make one for cheaper but they do sell them
i made mine for like $20 /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif ill try to get some good pics of it tomorrow /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

shannon, is yours made from an old receiver or from scratch? if i build a custom one i wanted to know what size tubing to use that will accept standard stingers.
Thanx. It didnt take long to make up. I cut it down to make brackets for it, test fit it inside the rails and decided to weld it in. I can never KEEP to a plan. /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif
You can buy the tube premade for the reciever. Even has the extra loop around it like a store bought hitch. You can get it at most trailer shops or machine shops.
I have a body lift so it comes out under the bumper, if I didnt have one I could make a pass thru in the bumper then use a fold down licence plate bracket to hide it or still have a front plate.
The one on the front of my '91 suburban is a boughten unit. I think JC Whitney sells them. Mine might be a hidden hitch unit, would have to go in the barn and look to be sure.
found this if anyone else is interested:
make your own
front hitch- bolt on $100
Man I sell mine too cheap http://www.4x4iron.com/default_files/page0041.htm
/forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif This one does not have the wrap around it cause it goes flush in the bumper, but I can add the wrap if it will stand alone.
