Front tube bumper ideas

the start of mine, will have tubes that go from corners over head lights and meet at top of stinger. Also have to mount my winch in the hole in the middle and make nice brackets for the turn signals

Reid Supply has many different options for the latches you are looking for. I think they are Destaco or some variant.

How big is the spare you plan on carrying? I ask this because mine broke a few years ago and it was a swing out carrier. Although it was a different design that initially did not have a latch or anything to hold the free side down. I had to modify it after a 39.5" tire went bouncing across the road and it has not been a problem again, although it does not get driven as much as it used to.:o

Here's a link. http://www.reidsupply.com/aDetail.aspx?N=1003805&A=TC-374&An=1003805&On=1003805&ST= Similar to what I used but there are other styles. Each style comes in many different sizes so read the specs real well. The first on I ordered was about 10" long and 3" wide.:eek1::doah:

Thanks for the link. I'm only running 33's.

How are strong are these tube bumpers to say, the stock bumper or a plate bumper?

Stock bumpers suck, throw a banana on them and you get dent...

This one however is stout, I can lift the whole truck in the corner. It won't flex one bit. :D:D:D

Here's mine...

It's setup for an 8274 after a little grille trimming. I wanted to keep the winch low in the frame so it didn't block too much of the radiator. Never mind the POS fog lights, one too many low hanging branches, but the bumper saved the grille.

This is my first attempt at tube bending and building a bumper.

This is what was on it before I built one:
