i just got back from being towed with my truck. i got stuck on the george washingtom bridge in nyc. i was just driving in moderate trafic doing about 15 in second gear wich i do all the time. it started to stall so i downshifted and that was it i couldnt get it started. when i got pushed off the bridge i9 changed from my jacobs ignition to the stock hei and it still wouldnt start so i called the tow truck and got towed the 7 miles to my friends gas station. when i got there we checked for spark. it was good. then we pulled the fuel line off the carb and cranked the motor over and there was no fuel. so i think its the pump. i put it up on the lift and there was no obvious filter in the line. im just wondering what everyone thinks the problem is.

Sure sounds like the fuel pump to me........Do you have a mechanical or electric pump?
