hi i got a 1993 chevy 350 fuel injected motor and im building it and gonna make it carbaurated. i heard 86 and older intake manifolds dont work because theres 2 bolt holes that are different. so does anyone know which intake manifold i would need or know where i could get a intake and carb kit. thanks

Why would you do this?

People talk about converting back to carb when they have challenges with Fuel Injection, but really, FI is so much better than carb.

If something is wrong with your FI, let the guys here help you fix it.

Got it, that makes better sense.

Do you have hte fuel injection setup off of it?

been trying to fix mine for a year:whistle: :D

Im about to do this same thing myself because ive changed EVERY component involved....

So whats this intake thing...? is it true?

The later center bolt style heads use a different intake manifold, the ports are in a different spot and the bolt holes are at a different angle. You can oval out holes to make the old stuff bolt up, but it doesn't work right. Edelbrock makes a carburetor manifold for those that's pretty inexpensive.

Are you sure you're not mistaking the port mismatch for the later vortec head intake ports?

I was guessing that but wasn't sure... I looked a bunch up on summit and most fit all the way to 95... I'm in good shape then:D

Yeah the vortecs had a completely different port. Making an older manifold work will seal but its totally inefficient and dumb. As far as Ive seen the 86 and down and 87-95 manifolds have the same ports but the center bolt holes are on different angles. They make an offset angled washer to make them backwards compatible.

Ran a pro products intake on a tbi350 I converted to carb. It came with spacers that went on the middle bolts to make the right angle depending on if tbi or older heads were used.
