Fuel Pressure Gauge

I was looking at these the other day, I think Ill just go the cfm-tech route. even though its spendy, I think I need it.

You should never run a fuel presure gauge inside the passenger compartment unless it's eletronic and no fuel line is coming in the passenger compartment for obvious fire issues...

Either electric or mechanical with an isolator. I'm going to mount a fuel pressure gauge inside my blazer so I was looking at Autometers website and a Sport Comp mechanical gauge will run me about $50.00 and the isolator will run me another $105.00 then I looked at the electric fuel pressure gauge and that one cost over $200.00 so looks like a mechanical gauge with an isolator for me.

Thats not terrible. I thought about going that route but when I added in the cfm-tech adapter and line to run it the whole setup would be around $260 or I could do it on the cowl for like $150

That isolator is the high pressure one. There is another that is only designed for max of 15 psi but it isn't available separately. I would go with the high pressure isolator though in case you ever need to run a higher pressure or decide to use the isolator for oil pressure instead.

Yep definitely going to run the high pressure one so when I do my ls swap one day it will be good to go.

Be really nice if we could find a 0 to 30 PSI gauge. Would be more accurate to dial in to say 18 then a 0 to 100 PSI gauge would... I think I have seen 0 to 60 PSI...

yea the 0-15 should be fine for tbi, but when I do an ls swap im gonna need the 0-100 or 0-75 would be good.

One on the blazer is not in the engine bay but at the fuel tank. I can see it from the Driver's seat though.

Crew cab has a in dash electric gauge. I have used it a few times to identify issues. Nice to know what the pressure is.

Autometer Cobalt #6161. It's an electric 0-30 psi gauge but it's only 2 1/16" diameter. I'm looking for a 2 5/8" diameter to fit my gauge panel with my oil temp and trans temp gauges.

anybody else have a problem bolting on the cfm-techs fuel pressure adaptor. i just got mine and was gonna put it on but its so tight betweent eh tbi intake and where the coil is, that it doesn't look like its gonna fit in between. anyone else have this problem?

yeah, iirc, i just tweaked the bracket over for the coil.. don't think i slotted any holes or anything... just bent it... been awhile...

so i moved all the crap out the way took the the fuel inlet line off and the adaptor just slides right into the hole. the thing is two small for the inlet hole on the tbi. i hope he didn't send me the wrong one i don't remember specifying the model year i have but he didn't ask either and i assumed all the tbi units would be the same size

Which side of the TBI are you trying to install the fitting? The fitting goes on the drivers side of the TBI. I have one of those fittings and I had to tweak the lines slightly to make everything fit but it worked no problems after I tweaked the lines.

thats what it was, i tweaked the line, not the coil bracket... and yeah, sounds like he might have tried it on the return...

nah i was on the driver side but i just got off the phone with cfm tech and i was unaware that the hole the fuel line screws into is actually a nut that threads into the tbi unit itself. i guess i have to take that out as well. i only disconnected the fuel line and tried to put the adaptor in that fitting and thats y it was to small

adjustable regulator was the best power adder i did to the tbi.. bump that pressure up 3 to 5 pds, ya definitely feel it... then probably the freakin salad bowl... :eek1: :haha:

where would u recommend getting the pressure regulator from. is the salad bowl thing ur referring too the bowl you can get from cfm increase airflow?

yup.. and i got their adjustable regulator too...
