I need to know where it is in relation to the rear lip of sheet metal and the inner sides of the floor. I am going to cut the floor to change mine. The fuel tank has 31 gl in it. I had planed on doing this just not right now.

I found out mine did crap on me Friday!

Not sure how far forward from the rear but it is centered between the sides. You can probably look from the side and see close enough how far forward you'll need to cut.

It will take time, but if you don't want to cut, in my experience, you CAN siphon it out of the tank at the fuel filter connection. It's slower of course, but if you put a good pump in there, you should have another 100,000 miles before you have to deal with it again.

I know some one here did it! I have a pic but no name.

Mine crapped out yesterday...thank god the previous owner cut the floor. my cut looked exactly as the one above.

Dude I need measurements!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PLEASE and thank you.

Don't know if this will help[ or not, I cut an access door on my 89 Suburban and it was roughly 24" from the lip to the center of the sending unit and centered between the bedsides. Looking at my Blazer it measures to be about the same , I cut about a 16 x 16 hole and it was just about perfect. Kind of seems like it wouldn't be because the suburban looks like it has more overhand in the rear but I measured it as best as I could and they appear to be the same.

Oh btw, I cut mine with the tank out, I'm sure you wouldn't do this but it will help some to loosen the tank straps a little and stuff something in between the lines and the floor just in case, ie piece of wood or something, hope this helps.

Truck is fixed just waiting for a ride to go get it. Pics if not to dark other wise I will post them tomorrow. Thanks all!

I know you already got it fixed but 1tonmudder has his floor cut for that reason.

I just swapped mine out a couple months ago but we dropped the tank. It stays on empty really so it was pretty easy.

OK all here is the measurement for future reference. Standing at rear lookin in.

1. Go min 11 inches up from the tailpan lip.
2. The side post at tail on the inside measure from each side
28 inches along the lip then mark at the 11 inch line
3. The top of opening should be a min 8 inches.

I hope this helps!
