Full roll cage pricing aybody?

Well, chatted up some of the recommended shops. I have another quote coming in this week. It is looking a lot like the first quote I got from the NHRA guy is going to be competitive and he does TIG welding as opposed to some of the shops that just do MIG welding. Pacific Fab does both. I like some of the recommended shops, but they are all a bit far from me. The one shop I may go with is walking distance from my house.

Is that the guy over on Portola, the whatever-welding whose sign says they've been in the same location for 62 years?

No, this guy actually has a shop with no sign on it on First St. He fabs and machines parts for P.G.& E but he races and builds his own cars. He has a mandrel bender and all kinds of other equipment. I saw the race car he is building and the welds are pristine. He doesn't really do cages or other commercial products outside of his normal stuff. I just got lucky on a referral from a shop a few doors down. I think this guy just wants to do it for fun, and to make a few extra bucks. Normally I would be reticent to have somebody that doesn't do cages all the time do it, but after seeing his race car he is building, I have confidence he knows what he is doing.

cegusman, that's one sweet-ass cage! :saweet:

Weren't you making your own at one point but the bars were too low and you hit your head or something?
