fullsize axles on an s-15

I am thinking about buying an s-15 with a 350, hyrdamatic 700 tranny, and a 9 inch lift in it. I would like to take the 12/10 bolts out from under my k-5 and swap them into the s-15. I assume the spring perches will have to be moved inwards, but, my question is for a begginning welder like myself is it worth it to try moving the perches myself or should I have it done professionally. Is there anything I'm overlooking? Any tips for how to run the brakes etc?

you will have a lot of axle stick out becasue full size axles are a lot wider

Thats allright...The truck would be strictly offroad.
