Furd fellas I have a question.

So in my search for SAS parts, a friend of mine has a 79 f-250. BUT he says the axles are out of a 83 f-250. Are they still gunna be a D44 front and D60 rear? He isnt very knowlagable he sad they are ford axles not dana axles LOL I still have to get out to look it over he didnt know what I was talking about when I asked if the front is a high pinion. He also said the front springs are 31" to the centers. Witch cant be correct either. He also said they are covered in thick grease, and he didnt want to crawl around in it to get me numbers. WIMP!

So help fella out, what axles came in a 83 f-250?

The front could either be a Dana 44 or 50 TTB. The rear probly a Dana 60. It sounds like he has no idea what he has...Its alot of work to put 83 axles in a 78, and vise versa...

Its definatly a solid axle. It was his dads truck and I remember the truck when they fixed it up and had it painted. I was in 7th or 8th grade when they got it done. It used to be a real nice truck but the years have not been kind. He sent me a cell phone pic the clear coat is all flakey and it has a flat bed on it. Its suposed to be here soon. Se the old man went on a mission to Navu. The older brother had the truck and moved around. and he left it at his last house. My friend is gunna take the 460 out of it for his 79 f-250. He told me I can have both axles and springs for $300 or trade. Im just hopeing its a HPD44 and D60.
