gm 6.2 diesel spin on filter value ?

i happen to be cleaning the shop a bit and found 1 of these i forgot about .

i tossed it in the glass bead box and cleaned it up real nice to get the grime off it and help show its condition .

whats a good price to ask for one if i was to sell it ? its the primary filter on the firewall for 1982 and 1983 .

Hard to say...seeing it came factory only a few years and some diesel fans prefer the spin on filter over the crap "box" style they switched too,they may be willing to pay a good sum for one..
The 33123 WIX filter that fits that base is now about $25..

I bought a very similar WIX 24309 filter base that retails for about $50 at a swap meet last year,new in the box,along with a giant sized "no name" fuel filter that fit it ,and also fits the stock WIX 33123 filter GM used on your style base--for a whopping $8..

The only bummer is the base has no bleeder (if I remember correctly),but I think one could be added by drilling & tapping it for one if it does lack one--it has 1/2" NPT pipe inlet & outlet....the filter had no drain or bleeder either,I think it fits detroit diesel big rigs..

It’s not worth a ton , especially when you can buy aftermarket filter bases that look almost identical, or junkyard it , and get one from an IDI ford .

That's about right. $50 brand new, so a discount for used.

For what it's worth, my equivalent aftermarket filter base came with 6 cartridges for $50 (new).
