Gooseneck standard maximum ball height. Anybody know it?

The trailer i'm looking at is gently used and I can't get a measurement from the guy on what the maximum ball height is. It has an adjustable neck but not sure if it'll go high enough for my crew cab.

what the heck you crying for. far it up metel man. :haha:

i am no help on these sorry. but most i have seen are adjustable up or down around a foot. thats goose neck or 5th wheel. as long as its mounted in a round tube body thats welded to the trailer tounge.

No doubt I could mod it once I get it to the shop. Got to get it to the shop first though.:wink1: Rather not be floating the front tires all the way home.

Turns out 45" to the top of the ball will work out just right.

Got a pretty good deal on this one. Guy had less than 300 miles on it and I'm inclined to believe him.

and it looks so sexy with the truck pulling it also. :eek1:

Yeah, I love the look of a nice truck pulling a nice trailer with a toy on top. Looking forward to snapping that picture.

Now I need to get it registered and look into all the DOT number BS.

So what is the maximum height? I gots 37's on the tow beast now but still have a bumper pull trailer.

Mine crew is 45" to the top of the ball. Glad its not any higher. It wouldn't work. Very close when the trailer isn't straight behind the crew. The gussets on the neck of the trailer are close to the bedsides.

I just measured my truck. Looks like I'd be in the 44.5 to 45.5 range to the top of the ball too. I was really worried about getting a gooseneck and then some of the crazy trail heads there are and driveways if I'd get it into the bedside.

I haven't hit many heavy angled approaches as of yet. I'll be watching it close till i get a feel for it.

Other than that, I think I could mod the gusseting on the neck and do some reinforcing in a bit different fashion and save some clearance.

Had to move a rig today that has no drivetrain or axles. Sitting on top of what we call the skateboard.

We got a winch mounted to the trailer, kind of a crappy old mile marker that needed some repairs. That sure does make a tough job of loading much nicer.

Got a few other small upgrades for the trailer in mind yet.

Next upgrades will be some deck lighting and a couple fold up steps to make getting on top of the deck a little simpler.
