I really like the paint scheme.
your ride is gonna look sweet.

for dims I wanted to compare tie rod mounting hieght.
I was told the dodge is higher but want to see if that is myth or a running change for all 60s

Let me know where to measure from and I'll post 'dims' for ya. It's still sitting on the floor of my carport so it's very easy to get to at the moment.

Thanks...it turned out better than I hoped!

Yeah, that was my first choice for a paint scheme but I went red/gray. Kinda makes me wish I hadn't. Ohhh, the anxiety your going through right now waiting to get it all together and running! Lookin good!

Mike, you should not need the specs from a GM to compare to a Dodge.

The part numbers between GM and Dodge on the steering knuckles are the EXACT SAME number. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Gawd Rene... that is about the SPANKIEST diff I ever saw! /forums/images/icons/ooo.gif /forums/images/icons/ooo.gif Looks good tho... They will match those chrome exhaust tips perfectly! I think you should go with the chrome diff covers... and the chrome shocks... and the chrome leaf springs... and the ... well you get the idea! Hehehe.

Love it... someday that will be me too.

showoff...

hehe that dana 60's no good without one key component...

a steering block /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

hehe better bring me that dana 60...

didnt see any parts today.. i'll pm ya when they get here... should be really soon!!!

that is what I thought but after studying at as many images as possible I still cannot tell if the tierod mounting hieght is equal.
I want to determine if, like the thick axle shafts, it a running change from Dana or a complete false story.

your vote is toward they are all the same?

I was curious myself.......from my 79 D60, using your pic as a reference, my knuckle measures 6-1/2". Yours shows about 4-3/4 as far as I can tell in the pic.

No problem. It's funny though, from the pic it looks like the upper king pin surface is shorter(closer to the axle centerline) than a chevy, but maybe not. The top side of the tie rod mount on mine is also slightly lower than the center line, where the dodge looks almost center.......Need a straight shot at it in a pic to tell.

It appears you have 5" from the king pin surface to the top of the tie rod mounting area. With a straight edge and a tape measure I got 6.5" on mine.

Lookin' GOOD! /forums/images/icons/cool.gif
You're right, it won't take long for it to get all ugly lookin' again /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif
