got my first k5 (build thread) went wheeling

did some work to the blazer. welded the d60, and got the correct front shocks on. put on my 39.5 tsl's too. might have to trim some more sheet metal. using up my $6 edelbrock shocks. still gotta fix a couple things yet.

whats size lift did you end up with? it looks like 6'' but i aint sure.

just got done with adding hydro assist last nite. used a tractor supply 2 x 8 ram. it's not completely finished, still need to get new tie rod ends for the drag link and a different pitman arm. i used heim joints on the tie rod with a .5 wall dom tube. we'll see how they last. this all was bought and installed this week so we could go wheeling this weekend.

after the last wheeling trip the steering box got torn from the frame so i fixed it with the weld on repair plate and ORD's brace. so i hope this helps.

got some crappy pics. and a couple videos. should have better pics this weekend on a trial run.

no, i torched off the stabilizer mount, it's not strong enough to use for hydro assist.

yes those are ruffstuff spring plates, and no i would not buy them. they are bent around the springs on the top. they need to have a bent edge like diy4x's.

wow my trucks not the only one that stalls when ever i try to do anything. sweet k5 though that looks like some fun wheelin

was busy for 2 weeks getting ready to on a wheeling trip. put in a 396/402 bbc. new clutch, new carb, plus some other stuff. narrowed the front, took off the top.

here's a couple video's. by the looks of the smoke, looks like it needs re-ringed.
