Gov Bomb in my front diff. Will it work?

The govlock will already be installed in a new carrier. The carrier shims may or may not work. When I put my E locker in, I had to use different shims to get the backlash and preload right. You won't be changing anything on the pinion unless you are changing gears.

So here's what I'm taking away from this thread -- it can be done, but I have to do a complete reshim and reset of the gears.

What will I need to buy to do this right, other than the locker itself? A new carrier and a set of shims?

The Gov-loc comes with a carrier already, so you won't need that.
If you take it to an axle shop they will probably have shims and other stuff for the install, but ask them what you need just in case.

You'll also want new ring gear bolts btw.
They shouldn't be reused.
