I have been shopping for Grabber MT tires and now have found out that they are the same thing as those Conti-Mud Trac tires that many of us have been confused by lately. The General Grabber MT is changing tread patterns to what is basically the Conti-Mud Trac tire now. Some sizes have already changed, so the old design is no longer available. The new tread pattern is similar to the BFG M/T and Pro Comp M/T. Continetal tire and General tire are part of the same company. The old Grabber was considered about the best value in light truck mud tires (practically a BFG with $20 or $30 wrapped around it). The new one is supposed to offer slightly more grip with the same level of road noise.

So if you have seen the package deals with the Continental tires in Desert Rat ads, there is no need to be afraid, they are good tires.

FYI, you can get 35x12.5x15 Grabber MT's or Pro Comp MT's mounted and balanced on AE 589 15x10's with caps, valve stems and lugs shipped for pretty much exaclty $1k from Desert Rat, National Tire and Wheel or 4WPW. Note: I am in no way associated with any of the companies mentioned in this post, except hopefully as a customer some time soon.
