Griff's thread about nothing in particular.

The Suburban my friend is scrapping has a G80 full float 14 in the back, but he's not sure of the gearing in it, but it's in the same boat as the 454, he's wanting to put them in his firewood truck.

Paint wise, if it was pretty much any other color, I wouldn't mind, but I really, really want the white cab and top, which on a white truck, is kind of hard. I want to do the IH red, but it was a blue truck originally, and when you can plainly tell a vehicle has been repainted, it bugs the shit out of me, so it'll be some shade of blue.

Ah, the 2WD Big Block towing Suburban! :thumb:

Tell him to just throw the firewood in the back of the Suburban and live happily ever after.

I literally had Duplo typed, then thought some people might not know what that is, so I put Lego.

And he would keep the Burb, but it's got a bent frame.

Burb in question.

With a 4 inch lift on a Blazer with a TH400 and a 208, what will the driveshaft situation be? Will the need to be lengthened?

Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo

We had to lengthen both for that red Chevy my friend is using as his firewood truck, single most expensive thing about that truck,
And totally worth it when its right

Driveshafts Unlimited in Arnold MO does it for 100$ shortened and balanced. A bit of a drive for you but stand up guys. And if you cant find 3/4s cheap there are 4-5 yards here with 4.10 equipped 3/4s at 150$ an axle. Both 14sf and 14ff if you desire.

I think the 10 bolt will stay until it dies, could I get away without messing with the driveshafts until I go 14?

Griff, is that TH400 original to the truck? I know your truck is some weird Gov't model, but that would be abnormal for a civilian K5.
