Has anyone ran H1s with Pitbulls? Specifically the same or something close to the Rocker (Radial or Bias) in 39.5X1650-16.5LT?

This is a wide tire and the H1s I think are 9.5?

I was wondering since they are double beadlocks if the tire would work fine with them. The width on the pitbulls kinda worries me even with the beadlocks of the H1.

Also, the radial sidewalls do break in after time but are they really that much better for on and off-road (driving to the off-road sites would be the only highway driving) than the bias tires?

For those that have ran them on thier rigs, what do you think of the wear rate...good, bad or average?

I have DRW D60 and D70HD axles so I think the tire will fit width wise. The only other tire I have been looking at is the IROK or TSL radial same size as above/ or close equivelant. The Interco is a skinnier tire though. Anyway, input is appreciated.

The tires will fit with no problems. Wider tires than those fit with no problems, 44 Boggers are common on the H1's.

like he said, they will fit,my brother has them. the same size ur talking about (39s) he runs them on 10" wide rims. and they have a decent arch to them at about 15psi,they might wear the center a bit faster if u run them on the street a lot. but if u run them low and offroad a lot they should be fine.other than that, they r a WIDE tire. my tires are 38x15 TSL radials, and they look about 4" skinnier than his 39x16.5 rockers

My only concern would be with the width of the sidewall and being able to get the bolts drawn in. This means you might need a slightly narrower beadlock insert. Hopefully somebody can chime in with first hand experience. The width of the tread is no big deal.

Gunny65, what kind of beadlock insert will you be using? Stock rubber, mag type or pvc?

Unless the Pitbulls have some kind of bizarre thick bead they should fit. I have 8 bolt H1's w/ cut down mag runflats and have mounted 42 TSL's, 47 LTB's and now 43 SX's on them with no problems.

As stated though, it's a narrow rim so you have to watch your air pressure to keep from crowning the tread and wearing the center fast.

I ran 44s on my H1s pitbulls they were 18.5 wide no problems with the wheel tire setup at all

I am planning on pvc inserts. If I could find some cheap mags I would cut em down and use those. PVC is the plan though.

Pitbull rockers are about 100 bucks cheaper than Irocks out here. So I think I will go with the PBs. Love the width of them.

I will watch tire pressures while on the pavement. Thanks for the heads up.

I have my 43x14.5 SXs on H1s and am picking up a 44x18 TSL to mount on a H1 as well this weekend for a spare. Run it.

glad i found this thread. actually looking at the identical tire on the same rim and was worried about the width also. glad to see it will work .

Here is what they will look like.

Nice look there MT. Those would look really good on my Blazer. I am sticking with the standard center though. Cheaper and fits the axles I have. Thanks for the pic.

For a truck that will only see street miles to get to the trails bias is the ticket. Once they round out after a few miles it is no big deal and they are tougher tires then radials. PBR's are a sweet tire too. Very soft and hookup well. Probably the best non-competition tire for rocks that I have seen to date. They do wear kinda fast if you street them alot though from what I have heard.
