Hello,
I’m in the middle of installing crossover steering on my K5, everything is going fine until I try to put my wheels and tires on. I’m running factory H2 takeoffs, and their barely rubbing on the tie rod ends. I really Don’t want to run any kind of wheel spacer on it, is their any kind of smaller diameter tie rod end I could run? Maybe Heim joints instead of tie rod ends will give me the clearance I need.

what axle ?

who's crossover arm ?

what style tie rod end ? pic ?

stock h2 rims are in the 5" backspace area and suck in a bit .

3/4 ton 10 bolt axle. All parts are ORD including tie rod ends. I can take pics when I get back to the shop

na i know there stuff .

dana 60 tends to clear the h2 rims better than dana 44 / corp 10 bolt axles do . i think you might just need a 1/4" spacer to clean possibly .

if you do go spacer make sure you have min 5 - 6 full turns on the lug nuts on the wheel studs .

1/4” wheel spacer would be more than I need, I could go 1/8” and still have room on the on the tabs of the hub to keep the wheels hubcentric. Not really what I want to do, but might be my best option.

hub centric is nice along with lug centric but not the end of the world if the hub centric is not engaged . this from many years in the tire biss .

If its only 1/8" clearance required, can you grind on the offending tie rod ends to make the clearance? Usually there is enough casting that you can take a little off without hurting anything. Use a flap disk on an angle grinder to go slowly in and leave a smooth paint ready surface. If you cant, then you probably will need the 1/4" spacers.
