Anyone know where to find the rubber/plastic door caps for a 1969-1071 Blazer? NOT THE ONES above the wing window. THE DOOR HANDLE side? If not what are people doing? Do the 1974 versions fit? Thanks.

Eh, I know what you mean and thought those was them. The 73-75 ones are part #12 on this page

http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/csb/full.aspx?Page=35

They cap off where you'd cut a pickup/Suburban door to fit a Blazer, at the level of the window felts, basically go behind your elbow, yeah? [I'm trying to use other words to make sure we're talking about the same thing.]

The 73-75 ones were fiberglass, though IIRC the repops are plastic. Spose you could mold your own if you were handy with fiberglass, or that's a project that screams "3D Printer" if ever there was one.

You have any of your originals left?

Hoping @Greg72 or one of the other first-gen guys will pop in and know something.

Yes, behind your elbow. Were you able to get the pix from Dropbox link?
I have the damaged originals in a baggie somewhere amongst the parts from the teardown. When I find them I will look in to 3D printing a version. My problem is the part that fits in the door channel is missing on both of mine. It would seem as hot as 68-72 K5s are, someone must make them. But I'm only able to find the upper caps for above the wing.

Yep, saw the pix ... but missed the red arrow in the first pic until just now. Got confused with the other pix of what we AREN'T talking about :)

If you have an original to work from, I may be able to help with printing a set, depending on how complicated they are geometrically and how beat yours are.

And yeah, you'd think they'd be available as repops. I cheated and went from full-convertible to half-cab on mine, heresy, I know, but I'm a redhead and sunburn if there is any light anywhere in the sky :haha:

some kind of of 3D-printed repro is probably what you will have to pursue....

Not sure I've seen those for sale Ina catalog anywhere.

Honestly, it's a losing battle. Even a perfectly restored 1St Gen is going to leak like a sieve in the rain.... There's a reason why every one of these trucks has rotten floors! :)
