How do you get the seat belts off of the hard top? Can you still use them? I was going to take it off the other day and could not get the dang belts off. My 78 did not have this same setup. PLease help. Going to Tenn. this weekend to tellico, and wanting to go topless.

i think most people just replace them with lap belts. You're talking about the rear seat right? forget what years they were attached to the top... but anyway, yeah, but some cheap lap belts and bolt 'em in.

90 & 91, I'm glad my 89 does not have them.

Thanks for the help. I will start looking for some lapbelts. I guess JC whitney is the cheapset.

mine were attached to the top and i did not like them atall. i cut them and had them stiched so now they are lap belts for free

IMO the belts on the hard topper can be very dangerous in a rollover if ppl in the back are strapped in. the shell can break off and pull the seatbelt pretty dam tight against a passenger :eek1:
