Issue is about 2 weeks old. Truck would click when attempting to start, after turning to the key a bunch it would finally start. Today I get nothing. After the key is turnef the battery gauge reads just a tick over 12 volts, radio comes on etc.

What should I be looking at, a faulty starter or ignition switch?

If you have alligator clips for your meter, clip one to the trigger side of the starter
If you have voltage there, it's the starter solenoid

No voltage, then the ignition switch

Did you try starting from neutral? I have had issues with my neutral saftey switch before. Pretty easy to tweak those from the base of the column.

have bought a second one and keep on hand because the headers live close to it and it kills them
