Okay heres the deal...
Im thinking I may have a little time to start putting the SM465 back together today.

however...

The old World War II manual shop press just leaves a little to be desired in the available pressure department, so I am thinking about taking the MAP Gas torch to the bushings and gear to give me a little less interference and make life easier on me and my poor old press.

I just want to make sure that I wont be causing any harm to them by doing so.

So is it okay to heat the sintered iron bushings on the mainshaft? How about the gear itself?
