Heep woes and other BS

Had this turd on a lift to do u joints the other day and noticed the frame looked a little funny where I had the pad at the passenger front. Upon closer inspection (after it had been up there for about an hour and a half), the frame buckled a bit and a new hole appeared.

On the plus side, I think I may have convinced my family that it's not worth putting the money and time into. Hopefully it lasts another couple of weeks of careful driving until ashley's car gets here and then we'll probably sell it.

That's probably what's going to happen. Not positive yet, but pretty sure.

You going to by her kid another one or some other plan? It does look like the frame is shot on that one. :(

Not sure yet. I think we'll ask if having a Jeep is that important to the plan, or if it's just a first car fund type of deal. If they definitely want him to have a Jeep, I guess we'll just keep our eyes peeled. There's a very nice CJ7 down here with a bunch of extra parts for 6... might try to talk them into that if they want it sorted now. Otherwise, I think sell it and put the money somewhere for now that can then be used to buy him his first car.

This one is toasted though. It could be brought back with some body work, and a frame (as well as a million little parts that would nickel and dime me to death), but I really don't want to invest the time or money in it. I think my sister would have been on board with that.

Seems like THAT Jeep would have sentimental value to the kid.

Agreed. But I just feel like it's current state makes it not worth it. I don't know, I'm definitely not happy with the situation in general...:dunno:

Yeah, exactly. I knew it was toasted, but I thought we'd be able to limp by with it for a year or two before tearing into it. With it this far gone, I just don't need that big of a project on something that isn't really mine right now. Plus I don't feel like paying to store it somewhere or have it take up garage space for the foreseeable future, then have to lug it around with us. We already have too much of our own crap.
