HEI Dist +Bat lead Power Requirement

I'm currently redoing all my wiring and had a question regarding the Power Lead that goes to the +bat terminal on the distributor. How many amps does that require? I previously had a 30amp fuse on a 18ga wire going to that which is Mickey Mouse to say the least. I heard it only requires around 5amps or less. Just wanted to verify that. Thanks

I have mine running from a spade terminal on the fuse block that is linked to my ignition Im not sure on what amprage it needs. Just 12 volts. I heard a 12 gauge wire is best.
