Still working the bugs out of my 78/80 K10 (78 chev frame/bed 80 GMC cab)

One of the last problems, can't find the wire for the oil sending unit.. gauge is a working gauge and sending unit is there, but I can't find the wire for it. Anyone know what color it would be on a stock 80 GMC C/K 10? out of the firewall?

mine's off white

Thanks, I will take a look tomorrow and see what I can see..

Hey, anyone with this general year CK, I found another small problem. When they switched cabs, they didn't get the heater/ac blower motor hooked back up. There is a plug, with the heavy purple wire to the blower, and the heavy red power wire, along with several smaller wires (I am assuming these come from the blower switch inside, it got dark on me) Does anyone have a pic underhood of where this plug is supposed to go? or what goes in it? I am thinking it may just be a resistor module for the fan speeds, but I don't know.. The plug is on the passenger side, in the engine compartment, right in front of the blower motor, between it and the AC componants, I hotwired the blower, and it works fine, but something is missing :D

I am about to get this old beater up to snuff!!!

I still can't find the tan wire, and that is the color the wiring diagram calls for, but still looking, strange..

I did figure out what was missing from the heater/ac setup, it was the AC/Heater High Blower cutout relay... $12.99 from NAPA...

Bout got the bugs worked out of the old truck...... now to get these damned exhaust leaks fixed.

Yessir, that be the puppy!! Thanks man! I do believe I will have full control of my heat tomorrow ( and maybe even air? dare I hope? LOL) ... good old NAPA overnite...

Gonna try the Percy's alum. Exhaust gaskets tomorrow too....... one more checkoff on the list, the old beater is certainly coming together...

As purchased..($1250.00), from guy's back yard, being used as a shelter for lawnmowers:p:

Hey Cyclone, you don't have a close up of the other side, showing where the oil sending unit wire (should be tan) goes through the firewall do you? :D :D

Here you go! This is to the right of my HEI distributer :) Its the bell shaped sender with the rubber boot connector coming out of the top. The wire is tan on mine as well. If you need a new connector, I do believe I have one sitting in my shop you could have.

I really appreciate the trouble. But, I know what that side is supposed to look like, I just can't find it.I need to see where that wire comes from, it should be coming out of a group of wires that come though the firewall, but I don't know exactly where it comes through.

Thanks again!

I'll snap a couple more shots and post them after school again :) Mine goes into wire looming behind the engine, but I gotta pull some wiring apart to finish my EFI harness, so I can pull it out of the looming and show you
