Ok so originally I wanted to place the front spring hanger directly underneath the body mount but I don't have what I need to make the hanger flat on top so it can bolt to it. I was going to go with 5.25" long shackles.

OR I could move it in front of the body mount like the ck5 article and go with 7.25" shackles. I'd also put togethor a square driveshaft. But with these much longer shackles, will this screw up the caster angle and all? I wanted to go with the first option since the shackles wouldn't be muhc longer and the dshaft wouldnt be moved forward and there was a chance I oculd keep the stock one, for awhile anyways.

EDIT: Now I see in ck5 writeup he moved the shackle hanger forward it look like too, well I'm not moving it so I guess I'd use shorter shackles?

I thought the 52" swap moved your axle center forward, period. You gonna scoot the mounts back somehow and keep it in place?

The *height* of the front mount will also change caster, as I discovered...

And I'm still gonna hafta shim the thing ... I do have long shackles:

Without running out to measure them, I think 7-8" C-C is about right.

I hate to say it, but I think you're gonna hafta mock up various iterations and measure, see what happens on your particular truck.

Are you gonna keep the existing rear hanger in place, that how you'd not hafta move the axle / change d-shaft length?

when you make the shackles, just make them longer than needed, you can always drill a new hole and shorten them
